Calendar of Events
August 2025
August begins with Emancipation Day, the commemoration of the Slavery Abolition Act of 1833, when the British Empire banned slavery in all its territory, including Canada. Emancipation Day is a day to educate and engage, with the goal to eliminate the anti-Black racism and discrimination which persists to this day.
