Calendar of Events

August 2025

The first Monday of September is Labour Day (1 September). An annual event recognizing hard-fought workers’ rights which remain under attack, it has been a public holiday in Canada since 1894. (Canadian Encyclopedia)

September concludes with the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (30 September), also known as Orange Shirt Day. The day commemorates those children lost to and those who survived the disgraceful and genocidal Residential School program. First Nations and Canadians wear orange shirts on this day as an outward symbol of the truth that every child matters. (Government of Canada)
