Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 30th anniversary Radiology Research Day on May 8th!

With over 150 participants in-person and online, this was our most-attended Research Day on record! There was a great community atmosphere, with enthusiasm for sharing each other’s work and thoughtful discussion throughout the day.

All talks have been recorded and have been uploaded to the Grand Rounds team for Department members.

Campbell Lecturer Dr. Linda Probyn gave her first lecture of the day at Grand Rounds with her engaging talk, “Mistakes we make in Radiology: Focus on MSK Imaging”.

Dr. Probyn spent the remainder of the morning teaching our residents and fellows.

Over the afternoon, we celebrated over 30 years of Research in the department, inviting former Research Directors Drs. David Barnes and Matthias Schmidt to guide us through the growth of research in our department over the last 30+ years.

We were fortunate to feature an impressive program of trainee and faculty presentations throughout the afternoon, moderated by Drs. Andreu Costa, Steven Beyea and Siân Iles.

Former Research Director Dr. Siân Iles presented the afternoon awards. MD candidate Jessica Thompson and Medical Sciences student Ben Thompson tied for Best Trainee Presentation (Non-Resident). Best Resident Presentation awards were awarded to Dr. David Hodgson and Dr. Patrick Rogers, and their abstracts will be submitted for consideration for the Faculty of Medicine Resident Research Awards in June.

In recognition of her research collaborations and productivity, Dr. Victoria Linehan was announced as the recipient of the RSNA Roentgen Resident Research Award.  Dr. Robert Abraham was awarded the Dr. Charles Lo Prize in Radiology Research, recognizing his outstanding contributions to radiology research.

We would like to thank everyone who judged, moderated, presented, or helped during the event, and everyone who met with us as we prepared the 30th anniversary retrospective.

A very big thank you to our fantastic Campbell Lecturer, Dr. Linda Probyn!
