Become a subspecialist in pediatric radiology

In order to apply for this residency, you must have certification in Diagnostic Radiology from The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or be eligible for this certification.

Our Royal College accredited residency in the subspecialty of pediatric radiology is offered at the IWK Health Centre, a tertiary care and academic centre for pediatric and women’s health in Halifax, Nova Scotia. As part of Dalhousie University’s multi-campus health care system, the IWK serves as a referral hospital for Atlantic Canada and is a centre of academic excellence. Upon successful completion of our comprehensive two-year training program, you will be eligible to challenge the Royal College examination in pediatric radiology and ready to practise as a subspecialist in this rewarding and dynamic discipline.

What you will learn

  • general radiology
  • fluoroscopy
  • ultrasound
  • CT (body and neuroradiology)
  • MR (body and neuroradiology)

You will have exposure to:

  • interventional radiology
  • nuclear medicine
  • PET (if required)

How to apply

Follow the process and deadlines for applying for fellowship. In addition to the requirements for adult fellowships, you must provide evidence of LMCC or MCCEE certification.
