2024 Faculty of Medicine Excellence in Research Awards

The Faculty of Medicine Excellence in Research Awards recognize the excellent research happening in our faculty by graduate students, postdoctoral fellows (PDFs) and research associates (RAs), whose research has been deemed outstanding, and who are leaders in their field. The award is accompanied by a cash prize of $500 and an opportunity for the winners to share their research with the larger research community at PREP Graduate Student Research Day (held in May or June 2024).

The four categories:

    1.       Master’s student
    2.       PhD student
    3.       Postdoctoral fellow
    4.       Research Associate

General Process

1.       Nominations
    a.       Each department in the Faculty of Medicine is invited to nominate one individual per               category
    b.       Department Head/Graduate Coordinator should provide nominees with the                                 PROGRAM AND APPLICATION GUIDELINES.
    c.       Department Head/Graduate Coordinator must submit the following nominee                              information to prep@dal.ca by February 5^th, 2024
                         i.      Name of nominee
                         ii.      Supervisor name
                        iii.      Category / degree program
                        iv.      Research topic

2.       Prepare and submit application.
    a.       Applications are prepared and submitted by the nominee. The complete                                        application checklist is found in the PROGRAM AND APPLICATION GUIDELINES.
    b.       Applications should be submitted to prep@dal.ca as a single PDF
    c.       The 2024 application deadline is March 1^st, 2024.
