Engagement Award
The Engagement Award recognizes an individual who fosters meaningful relationships amongst the medical alumni community, the faculty and its learners, actively participating in DMAA and Faculty of Medicine initiatives to support, celebrate and connect to each other. Nominees may include a class president.
2025 Recipient
Dr. Dan Reid (MD’70)
Dr. Dan Reid is a truly deserving recipient of the Engagement Award, exemplifying a lifelong dedication to fostering strong connections within the Dalhousie medical alumni community, faculty, and learners. As Class President of MD 1970, Dr. Reid has been a steadfast leader for over five decades, tirelessly working to keep his classmates engaged through organizing reunions, maintaining regular communications, and advocating for alumni interests.
His commitment extends beyond his own class, having served as president of the Dalhousie Medical Alumni Association, where he championed initiatives that celebrate and support both alumni and current students. Dr. Reid’s efforts in promoting the class fund demonstrate his passion for supporting future generations of medical learners, embodying the values of the Faculty of Medicine.
Through his unwavering dedication to building community and fostering unity, Dr. Reid has enriched the medical family and serves as an outstanding ambassador for Dalhousie Medicine.
