Community Partner Award
Celebrating the contributions of our community collaborators
The Community Partner Award honors individuals, organizations, or groups outside the university who have demonstrated exceptional partnership in advancing medical education. Through meaningful collaboration, shared purpose, and lasting impact, our community partners play a vital role in fulfilling the Faculty’s mission of Educational Excellence.
We invite nominations that showcase the spirit of partnership, innovation, and commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility that strengthens both our institution and the communities we serve.
Community Partner Award Eligibility & Criteria Summary:
Open to organizations and individuals outside Dalhousie University who have an established partnership with the Faculty of Medicine and have contributed within the past two years. Nominated organizations should show excellence in one or more areas:
Collaboration: Sustained, reciprocal partnership through shared projects or initiative.
Impact: Significant contributions to medical education, such as teaching or curriculum development.
EDIA: Advancement of equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in medical education.
Innovation & Leadership: Creation or support of innovative practices and community leadership.
Sustainability: Builds long-term capacity and ensures partnerships continue to benefit future learners.
To Nominate
Nominations must be submitted by a faculty, student or staff member within the Faculty of Medicine.
Nomination Letter (Max 2 Pages)
The nomination letter should clearly describe the nature of the partnership and the impact the nominated organization has had in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine.
Please include the following key points:
- Who is the nominated organization, and what is their connection to the faculty?
- How and when did the partnership with the Faculty begin?
- What has the nominated organization contributed to the partnership?
- How has the partnership made a difference to medical education. Include examples, data, or testimonials if available.
- How has the nominated organization contributed to advancing equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility in the partnership?
- What makes this partnership innovative or enduring?
