Building Healthier Communities Together

The Office of Community Engagement in Dalhousie’s Faculty of Medicine connects learners, faculty, and community partners to advance health equity across the Maritimes, grounded in social accountability, equity, diversity, inclusion, and collaboration. We support community-engaged education, research, and clinical initiatives that respond to real-world health needs and strengthen sustainable, reciprocal partnerships—locally and globally.

Our office is also dedicated to upholding the community engagement guidelines that ensure meaningful partnerships to improve patient care, advance research, and promote health equity. These guidelines align directly with the Faculty's strategic pillar of Serving and Engaging Society, which drives social accountability across all aspects of our work by fostering responsiveness to Maritime communities' health needs. Through this framework, we integrate diverse voices, support equity initiatives, and catalyze system change for better health outcomes.
