Patient Care

State-of-the-art care in a compassionate setting

The Division of Medical Oncology is a Maritime referral and treatment centre for patients with a broad range of cancers. It’s affiliated with the Cancer Care Program of the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, which means that members of our division see more than 16,000 new and returning patients each year.

Our clinical site teams treat a wide range of cancers including:

  • breast
  • gastrointestinal
  • genitourinary
  • head and neck
  • lung
  • melanoma
  • musculoskeletal
  • neuro-oncology
  • sarcoma

Each team meets on a weekly basis to discuss difficult cases, and gathers once a month to cover administrative issues. The division also holds monthly morbidity and mortality rounds.
