Research and the Residency Training Program

Excellent support for residents’ research interests

As a resident, you'll complete a research project over your five years of training, to the point of presentation at a national or international meeting. To support your efforts, you'll receive protected time for research throughout your training and in a three-month research rotation. Also, the division’s research director is available to advise you during all stages of your research project.

Current and past residents in physical medicine & rehabilitation have won national and international resident research awards. The Department of Medicine's resident travel policy is generous and funds accommodation and travel expenses for residents presenting their research at one research or educational conference per year.
