Dr. Paul Rafuse

Paul Rafuse is an Associate Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He received his MD in 1988 at the University of Calgary having earlier obtained a PhD in Pharmacology at the University of Alberta. He did residency training in ophthalmology at the University of Western Ontario. This was followed by a Clinical Fellowship in Glaucoma with Dr. Richard J Simmons at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary.

Dr. Rafuse devotes the majority of his time to the clinical care of patients with glaucoma and complicated cataracts. He is a surgical teacher in the Residency Training Program and shares in the training of a Clinical Fellow in Glaucoma. He has participated in clinical research on several aspects of glaucoma and serves on a number of departmental and societal committees. He is a past President of the Atlantic Provinces Ophthalmological Society, Canadian Glaucoma Society and Canadian Ophthalmological Society.
