Respiratory Physiology
A breath of fresh air
A sound knowledge of respiratory physiology is key to developing a thorough understanding of one of the most basic functions of life: breathing. Currently, our team is studying:
- molecular & functional studies of the Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane Conductance Regulator (CFTR) chloride channel
- oxidant stress and gene expression during airway inflammation

- epithelial transport in cystic fibrosis
- role of neuropeptide VIP in respiratory diseases
- drug development for the treatement of cystic fibrosis (industry partnership)
