Dr. David Volders awarded the Dr. Charles Lo Prize in Radiology Research
Congratulations to Dr. David Volders, who received the Dr. Charles Lo Prize in Radiology Research at Radiology Research Day on May 9th.
The Dr. Charles Lo Prize in Radiology Research provides the ability to recognize our faculty investigators for their exceptional research efforts.
This prize was established in honour of Dr. Charles Lo, the Head of the Dalhousie Department of Diagnostic Radiology, 2003-08. Dr. Lo was a strong supporter of the academic program at Dalhousie and was responsible for the growth of the research program.
Dr. Volders is currently a Co-Applicant on CIHR funding totaling over $1Million. Since 2020, he has published over 22 journal articles; with 7 articles published to date in 2024 alone. A strong supporter of resident research mentorship, four of his 2024 publications involve resident authors. He had two book chapters published in 2023 and is a peer reviewer for five journals.
From his nomination letter:
“His commitment to interventional neuroradiology is evident in his site P.I. role for clinical trials […]. His vision is to position Halifax as a significant player in stroke care and research, with the ultimate goal of originating national multi-center trials out of our department.”
Congratulations, Dr. Volders!
