Excellence in patient-centred care and education

Welcome to the Division of Otolaryngology─Head and Neck Surgery, within the Department of Surgery at Dalhousie University. We are a comprehensive tertiary care academic division, with a complete range of services in otology, rhinology, head and neck surgery, laryngology, pediatric otolaryngology, and general otolaryngology. We provide tertiary care services to the whole Maritimes region and have a long-established tradition of residency and fellowship training.

We pride ourselves on our collegiality, excellent working atmosphere, excellence in patient care, innovative care development and research facilities. We have basic science labs and programs directly run by our staff, or we partner with basic scientists in otology, molecular biology, tissue regeneration, rhinology, and in clinical trials and decision support mechanisms.

Primarily, our goal is to provide cutting-edge, high-quality, compassionate, patient-centred care, while developing the new technologies and techniques needed to advance patient care for the future. Our training programs emphasize our patient-centred, hands-on approach, and our strong academic focus.
