Katheryn Weldon Travel Awards (Fall 2024)

Purpose
The Katheryn Weldon Travel Award supports graduate students' participation in national or international meetings to present research on Alzheimer’s, liver disease, or diabetes.
Eligibility Criteria
This award is open to all Dalhousie graduate students currently enrolled in a Faculty of Medicine graduate program. Eligible recipients must have demonstrated excellence in research within the areas of Alzheimer’s, liver disease or diabetes.
Deadline and Competition Schedule
The fall 2024 Katheryn Weldon Travel Award application deadline is Thursday 31 October 2024. A spring 2025 competition will be announced in early 2025.
Award Selection Process:
The Scholarship and Awards Committee will carry out the selection of award recipients, and it will be overseen by the Faculty of Medicine Research Advisory Committee (RAC).
Grant Amount and Authorized Expenditures:
The Katheryn Weldon Travel Award is currently valued at $2,000. This grant is intended to help cover the costs associated with registering and attending conferences, including travel, registration, and accommodation expenses.
Submission Process
The student and supervisor must submit applications.
Students
- Applications from students must be a single PDF containing the following:
- A completed application form, and
- A copy of confirmation of acceptance for the presentation. - File naming format: Student’s Last Name_Student’s First Name_Weldon_2024
- A complete application must be emailed to the Medical Research Development Office (mrdo@dal.ca)
Supervisor
- Applications from supervisors must be a single PDF containing the following
