CASPer Requirement

CASPer SNAPSHOT (**NEW**)

This year, Altus assessments has introduced an additional  tool, CASPer snapsho

In addition to the Casper test, Casper Snapshot will also be required for the 2020-2021 application cycle. Casper Snapshot will be available to all Dalhousie Faculty of Medicine applicants going forward for the duration of the 2020/2021 admissions cycle. Snapshot is a three-question one-way interview tool taken through your TakeCasper account at www.takecasper.com. Once you sign into your account you should see a prompt to complete Snapshot. You will have the opportunity to practice responding to a practice question before submitting responses. There is no set time and place that you are required to complete Snapshot — you are able to complete it at your leisure before, or after you sit the Casper test. However, Snapshot must be completed by the posted distribution deadline of September 30th, 2020

All applicants to Dalhousie's Undergraduate Medical Education program are required to complete a mandatory 90-minute computer-based test (CASPer), to assist with our selection process. Successful completion of CASPer is mandatory in order to maintain admission eligibility.

CASPer assesses for non-cognitive skills and interpersonal characteristics we believe are important for successful students and graduates of our program and will complement our other applicant screening tools. In implementing CASPer, we are trying to further enhance fairness and objectivity in our selection process.

To see examples of the test structure, schedule your test and take CASPer on your chosen test date, please visit takeCASPer.com

CASPer results will be used for interview selection purposes only. Applicants who do not complete CASPer or who do not meet the minimum CASPer score of greater than 1.5 standard deviations below the applicant category mean will not be considered.
