Refresher Conferences

There are two refresher conferences offered each year.

Family Medicine Refresher takes places in the fall.

• Audience: family physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and hospitalists
• Goal: to enhance knowledge, attitudes, and skills in family medicine, informed by the best available evidence

The topic for the spring refresher conference alternates between the following:

Emergency Medicine Refresher

• Audience: emergency physicians, pharmacists, paramedics, emergency nurses, and nurse practitioners
• Goals: to enhance knowledge, attitudes, and skills for the management of emergencies, informed by the best evidence possible

Therapeutics Refresher

• Audience: family physicians, pharmacists, and nurse practitioners
  
• Goal: to enhance knowledge, attitudes, and skills in the area of therapeutics in family medicine, informed by the best available evidence

Dalhousie Academic Detailing Conference

• Audience: Primary Care Providers including physicians, nurse practitioners and pharmacists
• Goal: Interprofessional program to learn from, with, and about each other.

Medical Education Research Events

MERIS

• Audience: medical, dental, and health care communities
• Goal: to present research and innovation relevant to medical, interprofessional, and health professions education

• Each year we remember our friend and colleague Dr Karen Mann with a high-profile lecturer in medical education

TIME Visiting Scholars Program

• We invite the innovative thinkers in the medical education community to visit us so we can learn together!
