Research and the Future of Health Care: Using Genetics to Find New Treatments of Disease
Steven J.M. Jones, FRSC, FCAHS. Co-Director and Head, Bioinformatics, Canada's Michael Smith Genome Sciences Centre British Columbia Cancer Agency.
Dr. Jones uses next generation DNA technology to find mutations in cancer in order to make treatments that are based on the patients' genes. This research is promising in helping those afflicted with various types of cancers.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada as well as the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences.
