2015 Certificate in Global Health

In Defense of the Values Underlying Canadian Medicare

PhD Program in Epidemiology and Applied Health Research

Application Deadline: Dec 1, 2014. Dalhousie University’s Department of Community Health and Epidemiology invites applications for the PhD Program in Epidemiology and Applied Health Research for the first cohort, starting September 2015. Graduates of the program will become independent investigators who will generate evidence through rigorous multidisciplinary epidemiologic and applied health research that contributes to improved health locally, nationally, and globally.

Canadian Immunization Conference 2014

Executive Director: The Youth Project NS

Application Deadline: Dec 4, 2014. Nova Scotia. The ideal candidate will be a community leader who is committed to meeting the evolving needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer youth. The incumbent will be a person who has a strong track record of success in fundraising and program delivery, combined with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will oversee the delivery of the mission including the planning and implementation of fundraising campaigns, and ensure the highest quality in program administration and delivery. The building of strong relationships in the community and liaising with outside supporters and stakeholders are key responsibilities. Managing day-to-day activities of the organization such as finance, human resources and operations fall within the scope of responsibilities.

Global Health Through an Ethical Lens: Interprofessional Mini-Course

January 13, 15, 20 & 22, 2015. 3:30 - 5:00pm. LINC Room, Killam Library. This mini-course will provide interprofessional teams of students with an in-depth exposure to global health, with an emphasis on ethical decision-making in local and international contexts.

The PARTNERSHIPS FOR STRENGTHENING MATERNAL, NEWBORN AND CHILD HEALTH (PSMNCH) call for proposals is for a total value of up to $370 MILLION over five years (2015-2020) and has two streams.

Black Canadian Studies Conference 2015

The Black Canadian Studies Association will host its 2nd Biennial Black Canadian Studies Conference (BCSA) Community, Empowerment & Leadership in Black Canada in Halifax, Nova Scotia from 21 to 24 May 2015. To be held at Dalhousie University, the goal of the conference is to promote dialogue, critical reflection and nuanced perspectives on the past, present and future of Black leadership in Canada.

Pathways to Resilience III
