PhD Program in Epidemiology and Applied Health Research

Dalhousie University’s Department of Community Health and Epidemiology invites applications for the PhD Program in Epidemiology and Applied Health Research for the first cohort, starting September 2015. Graduates of the program will become independent investigators who will generate evidence through rigorous multidisciplinary epidemiologic and applied health research that contributes to improved health locally, nationally, and globally.

Executive Director: The Youth Project NS

Application Deadline: Dec 4, 2014. Nova Scotia. The ideal candidate will be a community leader who is committed to meeting the evolving needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer youth. The incumbent will be a person who has a strong track record of success in fundraising and program delivery, combined with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will oversee the delivery of the mission including the planning and implementation of fundraising campaigns, and ensure the highest quality in program administration and delivery. The building of strong relationships in the community and liaising with outside supporters and stakeholders are key responsibilities. Managing day-to-day activities of the organization such as finance, human resources and operations fall within the scope of responsibilities.

Call for Proposals: PARTNERSHIPS FOR STRENGTHENING MATERNAL, NEWBORN AND CHILD HEALTH (PSMNCH)

Deadline: January 15, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) The Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD) has just announced a call for proposals aimed at reducing the mortality of the world's most vulnerable mothers and children. The PARTNERSHIPS FOR STRENGTHENING MATERNAL, NEWBORN AND CHILD HEALTH (PSMNCH) call for proposals is for a total value of up to $370 MILLION over five years (2015-2020) and has two streams.
