Research in Medicine
First program of its kind in Canada
Research in Medicine (RIM) is an integral component of the undergraduate medical program at Dalhousie. All medical students will benefit from developing their skills of critical thinking and creativity through a mentored research project.
Faculty from the Department of Microbiology & Immunology will serve as mentors for RIM, providing opportunities for medical students to participate in creating a new generation of knowledge that may have a profound impact on their profession.
The goal of RIM is for every physician to be able to think like a researcher and contribute constructively to this new pool of knowledge. The program will encourage our medical students to develop critical thinking skills in real-world scenarios so they learn to approach problems in ways that yield meaningful outcomes.
