Graduate Funding
Financing your research
You'll only be accepted into the program if there are funds available to support you. Funds may come in the form of:
- a stipend from your supervisor’s research grants
- competitive scholarships
- tuition relief (for students with a GPA above 3.7)
- teaching assistantships
Students that are competitive for external funding are generally more attractive to potential supervisors.
Scholarships
Dalhousie offers or manages a large number of funding opportunities, including those provided by the university, the federal and provincial governments, and external agencies. Please visite Scholarships and bursaries to explore what is available to you and how to apply.
Harmonized Scholarship Process
At Dalhousie, you can apply for range of scholarships and bursaries with just one deadline and one online application through the Harmonized Scholarship Process, the complete list of which can be found on our funding application process page.
If you are a new applicant, you are not required to be accepted into a Dalhousie graduate program to apply for these scholarships. However, you must have applied to the program before you will be able to accept a scholarship offer, and offers are conditional upon your eventual acceptance into the program.
