Pulmonary Pathology Fellowship

The Pulmonary Pathology Fellowship is a one-year opportunity for a graduated resident who completed training in pathology and would like to have a further training in Pulmonary Pathology.

Most of training will be allocated to clinical/diagnostic services, during which the fellow will be given supervision to develop and improve knowledge and skills in pulmonary pathology mainly under the Senior Pulmonary Pathologist Dr. Zhaolin Xu's mentoring.

In addition, the fellow will have other opportunities such as exposure to lung cancer molecular profiling and pulmonary cytology, and participation in teaching, research, and molecular diagnostics.

Required Qualifications

Requirements include:

  • An MD (or equivalent) degree with formal residency training in pathology from a reputable pathology residency program;
  • Certified in Diagnostic and Molecular Pathology or Diagnostic and Clinical Pathology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or equivalent; and
  • Eligibility for registration/licensing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.

The position is open to all qualified candidates include those individuals eligible to sit for the RCPSC qualifying exams in those disciplines.
