Human Genomics
Making better treatment possible
At the Pathology Department at Dalhousie, we are proud of our commitment to genomics research. By harnessing the power of the three disciplines that make up human genomics—biology, genetics and computer science—we are able to better understand how genes impact our development, health and illness.
Finding the genetic basis for disease makes it possible for clinicians to provide their patients with faster, more reliable diagnoses. Knowing the genetic basis of disease can also help clinicians treat patients more effectively, while making more efficient use of patient and healthcare time and resources.
