Stone Disease Research
Finding innovative solutions
More than a thousand patients seek care for kidney stones at Capital Health each year. This accessible patient population is ideal to support our research efforts in stone disease. The recently established Stone Disease Research Program will focus on studying the most effective treatments and management of this common problem.
Current research includes investigating predictors of successful outcomes of extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy, determining practice patterns of shockwave lithotripsy and optimizing stone treatment outcomes, while minimizing side effects.
