Medical Records Keeping Course

Everything we do in healthcare involves some degree of communication, be it visual, verbal or written. Communicating effectively involves ensuring the proper and complete transfer of information to another.

In the practice of medicine, the provision of appropriate care necessitates the seamless and flawless flow of this information to ensure continuous, collaborative care. Unfortunately, all too often, this flow of information is not adequate or contains error which disrupts proper patient care.

This medical records keeping course was designed to provide information on standards of care in medical record keeping as well as guidelines on documentation, including useful tools to facilitate the proper flow of information in all aspects of care. Through it, you will gain knowledge of what constitutes adequate documentation of a clinical encounter as well as information about consent.

The course is housed on our Dalhousie Brightspace LMS. For more information, please see here. [PDF-327KB]
