Medical Records Keeping Course
Everything we do in healthcare involves some degree of communication, be it visual, verbal or written. Communicating effectively involves the proper and complete transfer of information from one to another.
In the practice of medicine, the provision of appropriate care necessitates the seamless and flawless flow of this information to ensure continuous, collaborative care. When this flow of information is incomplete or contains error, it disrupts patient care.
This medical records keeping course is designed to provide information on standards of care in medical record keeping in Nova Scotia and across Canada. Content includes guidelines on documentation of a clinical encounter, standards and guidelines around patient consent, and current guidelines for the correct storage and sharing of information in all aspects of patient care.
The course is housed on Dalhousie University’s learning platform, Brightspace. The cost is $495, paid at registration. You will receive a formal certificate of completion.
