Purpose
The goal of the Imhotep's Legacy Academy (ILA) is to increase the number of African Nova Scotians pursuing post-secondary education in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The ILA has partnered with the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Health Professions, and the Faculty of Science at Dalhousie to create three summer research scholarships for African Canadians pursuing an Engineering, Health Professions, or Science degree at a post-secondary institution in Nova Scotia.
Eligibility
Any African Canadian currently enrolled in the degrees specified above at a post-secondary institution in Nova Scotia is eligible to apply. Preference will be given to applicants who have participated, or intend to participate, in the Imhotep's Legacy Academy.
Description
One scholarship is available each for the Engineering Summer Research Scholarship Award, the Faculty of Health Professions Summer Research Scholarship Award, and the Faculty of Science Summer Research Scholarship Award. Each is valued at $6,500.
