Undergraduate Electives

Exploring ophthalmology

In your fourth year of the Dalhousie undergraduate medical education program, there’s a 12-week elective block at the beginning of the year. Take the ophthalmology elective to find out if you’d like to pursue ophthalmology later on.

If you attend another Canadian university and you’re considering a Dalhousie ophthalmology elective, get in touch. Although we have to offer scheduling preference to Dalhousie students, we’re happy to consider you for acceptance. Contact our Undergraduate Medical Education Office by emailing electives@dal.ca.

Deadlines

If you’re applying for fall electives (September to December), you must submit your application form four months in advance, and you’ll be added to the wait list. If we approve the weeks you’ve requested, we’ll notify you by email after July 1.
