Antibiotics & Microbiomics

Profoundly affecting human health

The microorganisms that live on and within the human body have a profound effect on human health. The proper usage and discovery of novel antibiotics are required to combat the spread of pathogenic bacteria.

Conversely, the natural microbial flora that make up the human microbiome can become unbalanced leading to a state of “dysbiosis” that has profound and systemic effect on human health including links to obesity, bowel disorders, autoimmune diseases and adverse drug metabolism.
