Cardiovascular Pathophysiology & Pharmacology
Working towards new treatments for cardiovascular diseases
Atlantic Canada has the nation’s highest rates of cardiovascular deaths. Researchers in Dalhousie’s Department of Pharmacology are learning:
- how the heart and blood vessels work
- how they are affected by age and disease
- how this differs between the sexes
Our goal is to find out how the heart and blood vessels can best be protected, repaired and even replaced. This work will help us develop new treatments for cardiovascular diseases.
