Research in Medicine
Fostering research skills
The first program of its kind in Canada, Research in Medicine (RIM) is a mandatory program that introduces Dalhousie medical students to research at the start of their medical training.
Beginning in students first, the program was created to develop students' research and critical thinking abilities as they complete independent research projects.
The RIM program partners well with our researchers and provides projects of interest to medical students.
As a medical student, you are encouraged to identify and engage researchers in the Department of Surgery to work on research projects of interest.
