INDIGENOUS PERSPECTIVES IN WESTERN MEDICINE
Keynote address by: Dr. Ojistoh Horn
Dr. Ojistoh Horn is a Mohawk from the community of Kahnawake. She attended medical school at the University of British Columbia, then completed McGill's Family Medicine residency program with a fellowship in Maternal and Child Health. Dr. Horn now resides in Kahnawake where she is the only full-time family physician in Akwesasne, single-handedly serving the community of 14,000 people; she also works in Kawehnoke. She works closely with traditional healers and midwives within her community and has been recognized for her medical expertise.
