Simulation Education

Our Department delivers an active simulation program. The residents are engaged in simulation throughout their years in both formative and summative experiences. Our residents practice high acuity low occurrence events in a safe environment and attend multiple skills sessions on task trainers and at times use our cadaver lab.

The residents have become teachers and use simulation to enhance our medical student learners elective experience.  Simulation is used in multiple interprofessional settings to create collaborative working environments with the intent to improve knowledge and patient care.

Staff sessions have also been offered. There are high and low fidelity simulation labs, surgical skills center, cadaver lab, multiple task trainers for specific needs, and in-situ opportunities.
