The Dalhousie family medicine residency program aims to encourage residents to become effective, compassionate family physicians who can care for their patients in hospital, ambulatory, and community settings.

As a resident, you'll play a vital role in patient care across the Maritime provinces. During your residency, our clinical faculty will assist you in providing the best care to thousands of patients. You'll receive an in-depth clinical experience, explore areas of personal interest, and gain the skills of an exemplary physician.

A typical day can range from the birth of a child to the satisfaction of a patient quitting smoking. It also brings its challenges, such as identifying a communicable disease to diagnosing a terminal ilness.
