Subspecialty Residency Training

Graduating excellent consulting dermatology specialists

Dalhousie’s dermatology residency training program, which admits one resident every two years, is highly regarded in Canada and around the world. Once accepted, residents enjoy an individualized training experience in all aspects of care. To date, all dermatology residents trained at Dalhousie have passed their Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons exams.

As a resident, you’ll focus on building comprehensive clinical knowledge and experience, while receiving a high level of individual attention. You’ll also be exposed to difficult dermatology cases from around the Maritime provinces, and undertake quality research in dermatologic disease.

We encourage our residents to present cases at the annual Canadian Dermatology Association meeting and we’ll support you as you write at least one research paper during your PGY3 through PGY5 years.
