How to Apply and Selection Policy
Making it happen
To qualify, candidates for the Dalhousie Subspecialty Residency Training Program in Geriatric Medicine must be in their final year or have successfully completed an internal medicine residency program approved by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Candidates interested in applying to our program must do so through the Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMS).
Selection criteria
We select top candidates based on academic excellence, clinical skills, interpersonal skills and other attributes, such as research experience and extracurricular activities.
Selection policy
Preference will initially be given to Canadian residents who have not had previous residency training in geriatrics. All other Canadian citizens and landed immigrants will be considered through the second iteration of the CaRMS match.
