May 2, 2025, Pathology residents from Dalhousie's Faculty of Medicine gathered at the Atlantica Hotel for the Department's annual Research Day.
Presentations
After delicious buffet lunch by our host The Atlantica, attendees heard opening words by Dr. Irene Sadek, Department Head and Dr. Dan Gaston, Chair, Research Day Committee. Presentations were then underway - speakers were on a strict 10-minute time limit, enforced by our moderators Leah MacLean and Lauren Wotton.
After the presentations, Dr. Shashi Gujar introduced Dr. Pieter Cullis, PhD, FRSC, FRS, OC, Professor, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department, University of British Columbia. Dr. Cullis' keynote address was on design of lipid nanoparticles to enable gene therapies.

Poster judging
After Dr. Cullis' keynote address, the judging of posters began in earnest. Being up all day, judges had time to take in the three dozen posters by Pathology's residents and trainees.
