Drug Evaluation Unit, Nova Scotia Health

The Drug Evaluation Unit (DEU) provides drug evaluation support to the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness and affiliated organizations including the Atlantic Common Drug Review, the Atlantic Provincial Drug Plans, and the Dalhousie Professional Development and Medical Education Academic Detailing Service.

Pharmacists with the DEU collaborate with the Dalhousie Academic Detailing Service for topic development, undertake the critical appraisal of the evidence for Academic Detailing topics, and participate as content authors for Academic Detailing educational materials. The DEU is also involved with the upskilling of Academic Detailers, responds to questions that arise from Academic Detailing visits, and contributes to the development and delivery of continuing education conferences.
