Challenging Health Inequities
Dates: November 20 & 21, 2014
Location: University of Toronto Conference Centre
Indigenous people in Canada (First Nations, Inuit and Métis) experience significant health disparities on every major health indicator and continue to be under-serviced for health care, and do not have the same access to healthcare providers as other Canadians. This interdisciplinary event aims to address some of those needs. This conference would be of interest to healthcare providers (physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers, community health representatives, rehab, etc.), but also to policy makers, and public health specialists. The conference objectives are to facilitate the translation and dissemination of knowledge and improve cultural sensitivity about Indigenous health in Canada.
