August 18 - 29, 2014
Dr. Shelly Whitman, Executive Director of the Roméo Dallaire Child Soldiers Initiative at Dalhousie University.
Children and War will explore the many dynamics of conflict that affect children globally. The course investigates the intersection between the effects of war on children and their involvement within it—often as child soldiers. This course is an opportunity for students to discuss the practical application of theory and knowledge from this field of study through the lens of an academic and practitioner.
Children and War runs for 10 days from 18-29 August, 2014, Mon to Friday from 9:35 am – 1:25 pm at Dalhousie University.
How to Register:
Students must register through the Dalhousie University Registrar’s Office. Students are encouraged to enroll by August 4th, 2014. Upon the successful completion of the course students will receive a half course credit that can be used towards their required course work or as an elective depending on their academic program.
