Dr. Adi will discuss the development of Pan Africanism, while addressing the legacy and relevance of Pan Africanism to the the current struggle for liberation, social justice and emancipation. Dr. Adi will also present his most recent book: Pan-Africanism and Communism: The Communist International, Africa and the Diaspora, 1919-1939 (2013). Dr. Adi is the author of several books on Pan-Africanism and African history. He is a founder member of the Black and Asian Studies Association, which he chaired for several years, and he currently lectures in African History at the University of Chichester, United Kingdom.
