Date: June 15, 2015 @ 12 pm
Location: Sir Charles Tupper Courtyard (exterior space)
Health care workers and students in Halifax are responding to the federal government’s failure to listen to their concerns over cuts to the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) by organizing a forth national day of action. Physicians, nurses, community health workers and many others from a number of different professional health disciplines will be participating in demonstrations in cities from coast to coast on Monday, June 15th. The health care workers cite a failed policy that has resulted in refugees being denied important public health care services while sowing confusion within the health care system. Canadian Doctors for Refugee Care are using the forth national day of action to pledge to continue their campaign to restore the refugee health care cuts through to the next federal election in October, 2015.
