First Nations people across Canada continue to strive for full recognition and implementation of their Nationhood through Self-Government. In this era of “Reconciliation” there are many opportunities for First Nations to consider.
This conference will provide an examination of current approaches that are underway across Canada for First Nations interested in Self-Government. Come and listen to their stories and learn about the steps taken by different Nations to implement their Self-Government agreements.
Over a three-day period in K’jipuktuk (also known as Halifax), a series of Self Government presentations and strategy sessions will highlight a pathway to Nationhood in Mi’kma’ki.
Self Government profiles featuring Maa-nulth, Yukon, Manitoba, NWT, and James Bay Cree final agreements.
NB. This conference has a $300 registration fee, however, it is FREE for students and Elders.
