Dates: Feb. 19 – 21, 2019
Location: Wu Centre, University of New Brunswick, Fredericton
Findings from the UAKN Atlantic’s 28 funded research projects will help us deepen our understanding of the needs and aspirations of urban Indigenous populations living in Atlantic Canada. In addition to increasing the visibility of urban Indigenous populations, this conference will familiarize participants with:
- What community-driven research processes work;
- What institutional or colonial barriers are frequently encountered;
- How the research findings can inform policy and practice in ways that support
- self-government and self-determination; and
- What true reconciliation would look like.
