CFTR Modulator Therapies
CFTR modulators are transformative medications that treat the underlying cause of cystic fibrosis in people with specific genetic mutations. These therapies have already changed the trajectory of the disease and shown significant long-term benefits.
There are currently four CFTR modulators available in Canada. While many people with CF now benefit from one of these treatments, research and clinical trials continue in the hope of finding effective therapies for everyone living with CF — especially those who are not currently eligible.
Pregnancy & Newborn Follow-Up
There are recommendations in place for the follow-up of pregnancies and newborns of mothers who are receiving CFTR modulators.
