Medication Access and Support
Access to the medications you need is a key part of managing cystic fibrosis. Whether you're covered under the Nova Scotia CF Drug Plan or need help affording prescriptions, this page outlines the supports available through our program.
If you have questions about your medication coverage or prescription access, please contact your CF care team.
Metropolitan Dispensary
The Metro Dispensary provides low-cost prescription medications to individuals with low income or those unable to afford their prescribed medications.
A referral is required from your care provider.
To reorder medications, email: metro.dispensary@ns.aliantzinc.ca
Nova Scotia CF Drug Plan
If you're a Nova Scotia resident, you may be eligible for full coverage of CF-related medications through the provincial CF Drug Plan.
All CF medications are covered with no co-pay.
You will be required to pay the dispensing fee for transplant medications.
If your compressor breaks, bring it to the IWK Chest Clinic (located beside the Metro Dispensary) for a free replacement. This is covered under the plan.
