Military Medical Training Program

Dalhousie University Undergraduate Medical Education Program participates in an agreement with the Department of National Defense (DND) in creating a limited number of first year positions for Regular Force members of the Canadian Armed Forces, subsidized under the Military Medical Training Program (MMTP).

Applicants applying through the MMTP pathway must meet all academic and non-academic requirements as those applying through our general application stream. 

Applicants must indicate their intent to be considered under the Military Medical Training Program within Section 1 of the online application.

Successful applicants receive offers which are conditional upon confirmation from Department of National Defence that they have secured funding under the MMTP program.

Requirements

In order to be eligible for admission under the Military Medical Training Program, applicants must meet academic and non-academic requirements. 

Place of Residence

Must be a Canadian Citizen/Permanent Resident at the time of application

Degree Requirement

All applicants are required to complete a 90-120 credit hour baccalaureate degree granted by an accredited institution. This degree must be complete prior to the start of the undergraduate medical education program. For more information please click here.

GPA Requirement

A minimum GPA of 3.3 is required for eligibility. For more information on how your GPA is assessed please click here.

Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT)

An MCAT score completed within the past 5 years.  MCAT thresholds are determined in relation to GPA, for more information please click here.

Computer-Based Assessment for Sampling Personal Characteristics (CASPer)

All applicants are required to complete CASPer on designated dates for Dalhousie Medicine within the current application cycle. For more information please click here.

Seat Allocation

All eligible Military Medical Training Program applicants may be considered for a limited number of first year positions at the Halifax campus only.
