Christine Herman, BSc MD MSc FRCSC

Dr. Christine Herman graduated from St. Mary’s University with a Bachelor of Science and Diploma in Forensic Science in 2002, received her Doctor of Medicine from Dalhousie University in 2006 and subsequently completed cardiac surgery residency training. She completed a Master of Science in Community Health and Epidemiology in 2013 and pursued specialty training through a TAVI Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania (2014), Vascular Surgery Fellowship at McGill University (2015), and a Complex Open Aortic Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania (2016). Dr. Herman is Royal College certified in the specialties of both Cardiac and Vascular Surgery. She actively participates in innovative clinical programs at the QEII such as the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implant Program, Connective Tissue Clinic, Endovascular Repair and complex open aortic surgery. Currently, she serves as Research Director for the Division of Cardiac Surgery and pursues clinical and socioeconomic research collaborations with a focus of improving cardiovascular care for patients in Atlantic Canada.
